The best thing about our wedding was all the people who came. It is an amazing feeling to have all of your family and friends all under one roof at one time. That is something that only happens once in a lifetime and it was great. In fact, we enjoyed celebrating with everyone so much that we forgot to do things such as tossing the bouquet.

(The only difficult thing was that since we come from two different continents, no matter where we got married, one side of the family would not have been able to attend in full force. As we got married in New Jersey , it was Iva's grandmother, uncle, cousins and other relatives and friends in the Czech Republic that were not able to come.)

We met a few friends for drinks in Princeton Thursday night. Iva and the "girls", including the moms, grams and Aunt Marcia, went out for a lunch/shower in Princeton on Friday. Friday night, David's parents hosted a really fun rehearsal dinner for us and all our out-of-town guests in their backyard. It was a barbeque with recipes we gave the chef, so it was very personalized, complete with a game of badminton. David's mom did a splendid job with the tent roof and lights.

Saturday was beautiful, though not in the traditional sense: despite the long warm spring, it had poured heavily from our rehearsal dinner on Friday night until about 3 hours before the start of the wedding. Given that it was an outdoor wedding, we were in for some and mud. But there is nothing like a garden after the rain, and we forgot all about the cold during our ceremony and the subsequent festivities.
