The Everglades

In January of 2004, we visited the northern section of the Florida everlgades (through the Coe visitor center). This section of the park consisted of a 13 mile paved loop trail that traveled into the Everglades. The park service provided a tram or rented bikes to view the trail. We rented bikes, and biked the bulk of the trail but had to return early in order to return the bikes. The most amazing aspect of the trail was the fearlessness of the alligators - they sunned themselves right along the path, while bikers slowly rode by.
