Iva grew up the city of Brno in the Czech Republic until the age of 17. Her family is pretty small. Mamka is the head of a clinical biochemistry lab in Brno, and tatka is a mad mathematician - so you know where Iva takes her distaste for sciences from. They recently finished building a new house in the village of Babice just 15 minutes from Brno. It's in the most lovely spot, overlooking the village, its church and the whole valley. We love to visit our parents and go for walks in the beautiful surroundings.
Iva's grandmother, uncle Jenda and cousins Iva and Petra live in Brno.
David's family is significantly larger, which makes family reunions fun. Dad lives in Punta Gorda, FL, a canal community where he can keep his 34-ft catamaran right behind his house. Following 30+ years as the Director of Guidance Counseling at Pennington, Dad retired, moved to Florida and ever the caring guy, he now works as a social worker for the state of Florida. We try to take the cat (including the real cat Misty) out for a cruise each time we come visit.
Our sister Michelle is the best sister ever. She and Corey live in San Francisco and during our times in California we've always enjoyed hanging out with them: going out, hiking, grilling steaks, wine tasting, or doing nothing. Michelle will get published in the social sciences one day, so keep an eye out. Corey is a headhunter, so watch out, too!
The rest of David's family are spread out in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Texas and Florida. There are four sets of aunts and uncles on one side and another set on the other side. That makes for a good lot of cousins whom we see periodically at weddings and other family occasions.
