Denver Passport Office – Getting a Same Day Passport

by Dave Naffziger on August 11, 2011 at 7:36 pm

After exceeding 150 comments on post detailing my original experience getting a same day passport, I decided to go through the comments and separate the experiences and helpful tips by passport office.

These comments and tips were related to people’s experiences at the Denver Passport Office.

From COTraveler:

I made an appointment at the Denver office on a Thursday afternoon for Friday morning. I went to the office with my photos and all documentation, quickly confirmed the form I needed for a name change, and submitted everything by 10:30 am. When I returned as specified at 2 pm, my new passport was ready. Initially I almost paid nearly $350 to an online broker, and they told me they wouldn’t be able to get my passport this quickly—but they did tell me about the regional office/1-day passport possibility, and when I didn’t believe it I searched online and found this blog which helped alleviate my anxiety. The cost for me was $100 for the new passport + $60 expedited fee—much less than online. I wanted to add my comments so that other people know it IS possible to do a 1-day passport if you are lucky enough to live in one of the regional passport office cities.

If you have had an experience at the Denver passport office, please share it below. This tremendously helps future readers!

Today I made an appointment for 10 am tomorrow, Jan. 23, 2012 and I am going to the Denver passport office in Aurora and I will keep you posted of what happens. Thanks for the info on this blog, it really helped me.

I am very impressed with the service I received at the Denver Passport Office today. Even though I had a 10 am appointment, I got there at 8:30 and was out of there in less than 30 minutes. I entered Cherry Creek Place III, went up the elevator to the 6th floor, Ste 600 and after going in, went through the metal detector. Then up to the first window, where the polite gentleman checked all my paper and gave me a number, and I sat down for a few minutes, then was called to another window where I paid my $170 plus $12.72 for overnight delivery, and after checking all my paper work, she told me I would get my passport, with my new name on it, no later than 3 days and could be as early as tomorrow. I’ll post when I get it. They did not ask me for a plane ticket, but just when I planned to leave.
