Boston Subway Derailed!?

Personal by Dave Naffziger on July 7, 2005 at 10:15 am

This may be the first place this news was published online. I can’t find anything on the Globe or through Google news.

The Green line in Boston was reportedly derailed during the Thursday morning commute in Boston. The MBTA was already operating with a heightened security level announced in the wake of the London attacks this morning. Police and fire response has been overwhelming - at least 10 firetrucks, countless ambulances and even the Mass Casualty Unit responded.

I happened to be several trains back when the accident happened, and had to walk from the Park St station to my office just above Arlington. I didn’t see any injuries or smoke rising from the station - just lots of fire and emergency personnel.
